Welcome to the very first December Designers Discount event! This emerged as an alternative to the 2020 Giftalong on Ravelry. This is an annual event where thousands of crafters participate in a huge "along", using patterns from participating independent designers. There is a sale portion in the first week of the event, plus lots of community discussion, games, and prizes. It's an excellent way for independent designers to increase their sales (indeed, many designers rely on the Giftalong's late-year sales boost) and be discovered by new crafters.
Unfortunately, Ravelry's June 2020 redesign had an extremely negative impact on accessibility, and the group of volunteers who run the Giftalong didn't feel that the technology existed to be able to host the event off Ravelry. This meant that many designers either couldn't participate, or didn't feel it would be right to participate.
Thus, this new event was born! A bunch of independent designers have banded together to offer knitters and crocheters a week of discounted patterns off-Ravelry, across a multitude of non-Ravelry sales channels. This website is the central spot where you can find all of them. We may or may not be able to put together some discussion forums so all you lovely crafters can chat about what you're making from this discount event - please bear with us as we figure it all out.
Each participating designer has put forward ten patterns which will be eligible for a discount on their chosen sales channel from [discount date period forthcoming; the discounts aren't available yet!] when you use the code DecemberDesigners2020. Designers have been given flexibility on how much of a discount they want to offer on each of their discounted patterns, but the suggested amount is 25%. Whether the pattern you want is on Payhip, Lovecrafts, Etsy, or something else, you will be able to use that code to get the discount!
